August 4: Japan’s Deadline For Apple To Explain iPod Overheating Problems

Japan’s ministry for Economy, Trade and Industry has met Apple [JP] with a deadline to give an apt explanation regarding the first generation iPod Nano’s over heating problems – that’s August 4, 2010.
Japan has reportedly asked for the information regarding the reason why iPod Nano is overheating, and if the same complaints have been received from its domestic and foreign circuits. A Japanese Official also told that Apple [JP] will also have to come up with the information regarding the preventive and cautionary measures that have to be taken by consumers when using the music player.
There have been 27 incidents earlier, with the iPod Nano’s battery getting overheated when being recharged, at times with sparks flying off the device, causing fire accidents [minor ones though!], the recent one being registered on July 13.
Uh oh! What’s happening? There seems to be some or the other problem cropping up, with Apple’s devices each day. That’s really bad!
